When Your nervous systems waves the white flag

✦   ✦   ✦

Something I keep hearing right now — from clients, from people in circle, from the messages that land in my inbox — is some version of the same thing.

"I'm so tired. I can't seem to catch up with myself. Everything feels heavier than it should."

And I want you to hear this: you're not imagining it. You're not weak. You're not broken.

You're unregulated. And there's a difference.

Emotional exhaustion is what happens when we've been running on adrenaline and willpower for so long that our nervous system finally bills us for it. It's not burnout in the dramatic sense — it's subtler than that. It's snapping at someone you love and not knowing why. It's crying in the car. It's feeling hollow in the middle of a perfectly fine day. It's the inability to do the simplest thing because your body has quietly gone on strike.

And right now, the collective is deep in it.

What the Skies Are Doing

We just moved through eclipse season — a total lunar eclipse in Virgo in early March, which had us confronting what wasn't working, what needed releasing, what we'd been quietly white-knuckling in our daily lives and bodies. Eclipses don't ask. They reveal. And that kind of exposure — even when it's ultimately for our healing — is exhausting.

Then Mars moved into Aries, its home sign, and suddenly there's this roaring pressure to act, to initiate, to go. The sky is pushing us forward while many of us are still picking ourselves up off the floor. That tension between the drive to do and the body screaming rest is real. It's not a personal failing — it's the weather.

Today's Moon in Capricorn sitting opposite Jupiter in Cancer captures it perfectly: one part of you is gripping the wheel, trying to hold it all together, be responsible, be capable, not fall apart. The other part just wants to be held. To put it down. To be nurtured.

Both of those needs are valid. But if you've been listening exclusively to the Capricorn part — if you've been pushing through and performing competence and outrunning the feeling — your nervous system is going to make you stop one way or another.

What Regulation Actually Looks Like

It doesn't mean fixing your emotions. It doesn't mean meditating your way into spiritual bypass or convincing yourself everything is fine. It means coming back into your body, into the present moment, into safety — even briefly.

  • Slow, deliberate breath. Not deep yoga breathing. Just slower breathing. When your exhale is longer than your inhale, your vagus nerve gets the message that the threat has passed.

  • Sound. Whether it's bowls, humming, music that bypasses your brain and goes straight to your chest — sound is one of the fastest routes back to the body. This isn't just bias as a sound healer. It's physiology. Sound vibration regulates the nervous system.

  • Touch. A hand on your heart. Your feet on the grass. A warm shower. Your body trusts sensation more than it trusts thought.

  • Stillness with intention. Not collapse — intentional rest. Lying down and deciding this is medicine, not laziness. That shift in framing matters more than you'd think.

We are moving through a time that asks a lot of us — collectively, emotionally, energetically. The skies are not settled. The world is not settled. And your nervous system feels all of it, even when your mind is trying to manage it.

You don't need to be unshakeable. You need to be resourced.

Come back to your body. Come back to your breath. Come back to something that brings you home to yourself.

✦   ✦   ✦

If you're feeling the weight of this season and you're ready to let your nervous system exhale, I'd love to hold that space for you.

Sound healing is one of the most gentle and effective ways I know to bring the body back into regulation — no effort required on your part, just the willingness to receive. If you've been craving something that works beneath the level of thinking, come and experience it for yourself.

Whether you join a group circle or prefer something private, there is a space here for you to simply be — held by sound, held by stillness, and held by a practice that understands that healing doesn't always look like doing more.

You deserve to feel like yourself again.
