The Pink Moon - The beauty of letting Go
✦
The leaves are beginning to turn. The air holds something different now — a coolness at the edges, a stillness that wasn’t there a month ago. The earth is doing what she always does in April: beginning her long exhale.
And right on cue, the full moon rises in Libra — the sign of beauty, balance, and the art of release.
This is the Pink Moon. Named in the Northern Hemisphere for the first wildflowers of spring, but here in the Southern Hemisphere, it arrives as something entirely different: a luminous pause at the gate of the dark half of the year. Not a moon of new beginnings. A moon of graceful completion.
What if letting go didn’t have to feel like loss?
What if it could feel like beauty?
Libra is ruled by Venus — and Venus doesn’t release things carelessly. She honours what was. She finds the loveliness even in endings. Under this moon, we’re invited to lay things down not with grief, but with reverence. The relationship that ran its course, the version of yourself you’ve been outgrowing, the old story you’ve been carrying out of habit rather than truth.
Freyja — our gold-weeping goddess, she who loved fiercely and still chose herself — knows this territory intimately. Her tears are amber and gold, not ash. Even her grief is radiant.
This full moon asks:
what are you ready to release with that kind of beauty?
For your practice this full moon
Light a candle — amber, rose, or gold — and sit with what has been full in your life this season. Let yourself honour it before you release it.
Write two lists: what I am releasing, and what I am choosing to carry forward into the dark half of the year.
Step outside under the moon if you can. Let her light touch you. Breathe autumn in. Feel the sacred permission to rest.
Speak aloud: “I release this with love. I make space for what is becoming.”
The Libra full moon’s invitation is both ancient and immediate. Balance. Beauty. Truth. The scales don’t ask you to be perfect — they ask you to be honest. To look at what is, and choose from that place.
Autumn is not a season of endings. It is a season of discernment. The trees don’t grieve their leaves. They simply know what to keep and what to let fall.
Be like the tree, love.
Release beautifully.
